WHAT'S IN
IT FOR YOU? The following has
been prepared to give prospective members an
insight into the Lennox Head Chamber of Commerce
Inc. with a view to promoting increasing membership
of this organisation of Lennox Head business
enterprises. Background The Chamber has been operating in various forms since the mid 1990s. It became an incorporated body in 1998 and continues in that mode today. Originally, the Chamber membership was drawn almost exclusively from shopfront/motel businesses operating in Ballina Street/Pacific Parade. Today, there is a much wider spread of businesses throughout Lennox Head, including a number of home-based businesses, plus representation from professional groupings. In 2001 and 2002 the Chamber devoted the lion's share of its time to planning for Lennox Head, under the umbrella of the Community Access Group. Today this investment has resulted in a draft plan for Lennox Head which will hopefully lead to much-needed investment and strategic direction for the area's development. Aims and Objectives The Chamber's stated aims and objectives are socially responsible and business-focussed. We strive to maximise the economic vitality of Lennox Head, while recognising that development must not occur without sensible planning for the social, environmental and commercial aspects of population growth. The Chamber has frequent contact with other community organisations and Council representatives to align development progress to our agreed objectives. Click here for the Chamber's Aims and Objectives. Membership Chamber membership is enjoyed by some 40 local businesses, from local clubs, cafes and restaurants, to home-based businesses, real estate agencies, solicitors and motels. There are three membership packages available. You can choose whichever package provides the best value to your business. Click here for details of the different packages and annual cost Meetings The Chamber meets on a monthly basis to discuss progress made and current issues. The Chamber Executive Committee normally meets more frequently to co-ordinate activities in respect of the numerous local committees to which the Chamber provides representation. For example, the Chamber has been actively involved in the development of the Lennox Head Strategic Plan and is part of the monitoring group overseeing its implementation. The Chamber has also been involved in topical social and environmental activities such as crime prevention and water/sewage treatment. In a Nutshell The Lennox Head Chamber of Commerce offers: Need More Info? Feel free to discuss the advantages of Chamber membership with any of our Executive Committee members. |
